Dato’ Prof. Dr. Sudin Bin Haron was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company on 15 January 2009. His position is non-executive and he is an Independent Director. He is also the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees of the Company.

Dato’ Prof. Dr. Sudin Bin Haron is one of the world renowned scholars in Islamic banking and finance, as well as business management. Currently he is the President of Kuala Lumpur Business School. He was previously with the Northern University of Malaysia and served as dean of the School of Management, director of the Entrepreneurial Development Institute, founding dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, and director of the Research and Consultancy Center. Prior to becoming an academician, he worked for more than 13 years with one of the local banks in Malaysia. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Sudin Bin Haron has published 10 books and 60 referred articles in the areas of Islamic and conventional banking, small business and entrepreneurship, general management and marketing. He has presented more than 70 papers in international seminars and conferences. He had in many occasions rendered his experience and expertise as consultant to local and international business organizations. He was the brain behind the establishment of the International Center for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) of the Central Bank of Malaysia and served a year as the Deputy Chief Executive before embarking in his own business. However, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Sudin Bin Haron’s academic knowledge and expertise are still being sought after by many.
