ECER 3H | Completed Project
PROJECT INFORMATION
Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia awarded the group a construction contract for a road project called “Project Pembangunan Wilayah Ekonomi Pantai Timur Jalan Persekutuan Laluan 8 & 9, Central Spine Road Pakej 3, Gua Musang, Kelantan Ke Kg.Relong, Pahang (Seksyen 3H: Felda Telang Ke Kg.Kecur) (Length of the section 3H – 11.9km) in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) for a contract sum of RM148.63 million. The project is part of the Government of Malaysia’s master plan to promote the ECER and to improve its connectivity and accessibility to the central region of Peninsular Malaysia. The scopes of work include earthworks, drainage, road pavement, geotechnical, slope protection and bridges construction.
In support of the government’s policy and objective to have 5% of all new roads on concrete pavement, the Group is the first Malaysian company to invest millions in importing slipform concrete pavement machineries from Germany to undertake Continuously Reinforce Concrete Pavement (CRCP) works for the project. The higher initial cost required to construct CRCP roads are greatly offset by its higher durability thus requiring minimal maintenance after completion for a period of 30 years or more. In other words, the life cycle cost for the CRCP roads is much lower than the conventional flexible pavement (premix) roads commonly constructed in Malaysia.
